Wuhan, capital city of Central China's Hubei province, recorded growth in its total import and export value in September, with the figure standing at 33.27 billion yuan ($4.94 billion), a year-on-year increase of 57.6 percent and a month-on-month increase of 39.7 percent, according to Wuhan customs.

The total export value was 17.43 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 58 percent, while the total import value was 15.84 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 57.2 percent.

In the first three quarters of 2020, the total import and export value of Wuhan was 182.89 billion yuan, an increase of 11.4 percent over the same period last year.

Since the implementation of a new policy for cross-border e-commerce B2B export supervision in the Wuhan customs area starting on Sept 1, customs have accepted a total of 2,454 cross-border e-commerce B2B export customs declarations and manifest declarations, with a value of 12.34 million yuan, as of Sept 30.

The main export commodities of cross-border e-commerce B2B in the Wuhan customs area include daily necessities, clothing, bags, digital accessories, and hardware accessories. The main export destinations are Germany, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

The cross-border e-commerce B2B export supervision model mainly refers to the direct export of goods to overseas companies through cross-border logistics after domestic enterprises have concluded transactions with overseas companies through cross-border e-commerce platforms. Also, domestic enterprises can deliver their exported goods to overseas warehouses through cross-border logistics, and then deliver them to buyers from overseas warehouses after the transaction is realized through the cross-border e-commerce platform.
