Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, is to develop an international education innovation demonstration zone to promote its industrial transformation and high-quality development through the international education sector, according to local media reports.

In 2019, WHDZ utilized $2.14 billion of foreign capital, ranking second among the 219 national economic development zones in China.

In recent years, in order to attract international high-end talents, WHDZ has continuously improved its level of internationalization and created a good living environment for international talents. A number of high-quality international education and medical resources are rapidly gathering in the zone.

At present, the zone boasts a number of international schools such as Wuhan Yangtze International School, Wuhan Foreign Languages School, and Wuhan San New School.

In terms of international medical care, the Wuhan Union Hospital West Campus has opened an international outpatient clinic for foreigners, and Wuhan Asia General Hospital is also actively deploying international medical projects.

In addition, Tongji Hospital is to set up a rehabilitation medical center in WHDZ, covering an area of 90,000 square meters,

An oncology hospital featuring the application of domestic heavy ion accelerators will be developed in WHDZ. It will be the only hospital in Central China - and only the fourth hospital in China - to use heavy ion radiotherapy to treat tumors.
