Dongfeng Motor Co, an auto manufacturer based in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, has taken first place in the newly-released 2020 Wuhan Top 100 Enterprises list.
The total revenue entry threshold for the 2020 Wuhan Top 100 Enterprises list was 3.58 billion yuan ($525 million), a net increase of 171 million yuan over the previous year.
There are 46 enterprises in the city with an annual operating income of 10 billion yuan or more, two more than the previous year. Their total operating income accounts for more than 80 percent of the total operating income of the top 100 enterprises.
The total operating income of the 100 companies was 2.71 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 8.24 percent. The total assets were 4.49 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.71 percent.
The number of private enterprises that have entered the list has increased by seven in the past five years. Among this year's top ten companies, three are private enterprises.
The enterprises' total operating income in 2019 was used as the basis for the statistics released by the Wuhan Municipal Federation of Industry and Commerce.
Innovation has become one of the major engines for enterprises' development. Data shows that since 2015, the scale of R&D investment in the city's top 100 enterprises has increased annually.
A total of 44 companies on this year's list participated in the formulation of various industry standards; the same figure as the previous year. The companies participated in the formulation of 7,845 national industry standards and 168 international standards, 587 and 78 more than 2019 respectively.
