Auto manufacturer Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co has made progress in its daily vehicle output, with production increasing to 3,800 vehicles per day in early September, according to local media reports.

This figure marked the highest production capacity since Dongfeng Honda settled in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) in Wuhan, the capital city of Central China's Hubei province.

In the first eight months of 2020, Dongfeng Honda sold more than 440,000 vehicles. Of these, 77,493 vehicles were sold in August, a year-on-year increase of 19.8 percent, setting a historical record for the sales of vehicles in a single month in August.

The Dongfeng Honda CIVIC has set a record for sales of more than 20,000 vehicles for four consecutive months.

As one of the major industrial groups in Hubei province, all three factories of Dongfeng Honda in the WHDZ had resumed work and production and were operating at full capacity by the end of April.

Officials said their production capacity had returned to more than 3,000 vehicles per day and a new car was rolling off the production line every 50 seconds on average.

In May, Dongfeng Honda continued to produce at full capacity, manufacturing 71,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 16.4 percent. Meanwhile, the capacity utilization rate was close to 110 percent.

Between January and July this year, Dongfeng Honda sold more than 380,000 vehicles.

Dongfeng Aeolus, as one of Dongfeng's core business units, sold 6,704 vehicles in June, an increase of 24.1 percent from the previous month, and its sales in July increased by 28.7 percent year-on-year.
