A total of 30 boxcars loaded with auto parts departed Wuhan in Central China's Hubei province on Aug 29, heading for Guangzhou in South China's Guangdong province, and marking the launch of a new auto parts freight train service, according to local media reports.
Wuhan officials said that due to strong market demand, starting from Aug 24, the daily freight trains to Guangzhou have been increased from two to three. These trains are specially arranged according to the needs of local enterprises.
As the COVID-19 epidemic wanes, logistics channels are crucial for the recovery of Wuhan city. The transportation department is striving to break through obstacles to help freight channels resume operation.
Since May, the China-Europe Freight Train (Wuhan) has successively opened new international railway freight lines to Belgrade, Serbia and Kiev, Ukraine, which has contributed significantly to international anti-epidemic efforts and sister-city cooperation. Since the resumption of operations on March 28, the actual load rate of China-Europe Freight Train (Wuhan) has been maintained at over 98 percent.
On May 9, the first international water transport route in the upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River - the direct container river-sea route from Wuhan to Japan - officially opened.
According to staff members at Wuhan Tianhe International Airport, since the resumption of flights on April 8, the airport has guaranteed a number of all-cargo planes and "passenger-to-cargo" flights to Sydney, Melbourne, Paris, Liege, and Osaka, to transport export medical and epidemic prevention materials and e-commerce goods.
