A recruitment fair was held in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, on the evening of Aug 27, marking the first nighttime job fair held since the city lifted its 76-day lockdown, according to local media reports.
More than 50 local enterprises, including Wuhan Guangjia Automobile Trim Co and Wuhan Changrui Clothing Co, took part in the event, providing 856 job opportunities in a diverse range of industries, from automobile and parts manufacturing to the service sector.
According to WHDZ officials, the job fair was comprehensive and specially set up for groups such as retired fishermen, low-income households and college graduates.
Most of the companies that participated in the event reduced the education level and age requirements for job applicants. The monthly salaries offered range from 3,500 ($510.65) to 8,000 yuan, and employees are provided with benefits such as social insurance and housing allowance.
A total of 291 people reached employment intentions during the event.
