The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Science Park in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, went into official operation on Aug 20, with 13 enterprises already settled in the park, according to local media reports.
The park is on Dongfeng Avenue in the WHDZ. It covers an area of some 200 mu (13.33 hectares), with a total investment of 2 billion yuan (289 million) and a building area of 260,000 square meters.
The AI park is on the grounds of the original Zhuanyang Sub-district Private Science and Technology Industrial Park. However, it was rebuilt and upgraded from a traditional manufacturing park to a high-tech park focusing on AI, big data and cloud computing technology.
The park is divided into five major groups according to function, namely: the autonomous and controllable information creation group, the AI cloud entertainment group, the AI smart network connection group, the industrial internet group and the intelligent life group.
According to park officials, future investment promotions will be carried out according to the five major groups to ensure that the enterprises entering the park conform to the future development plan of the WHDZ.
During its trial operation period, the park attracted more than 30 well-known enterprises such as Tencent Cloud Artificial Intelligence Industry Empowerment Center and Baidu Cloud Intelligence Academy Artificial Intelligence Base.
