Dongfeng Motor Co – the primary auto manufacturer based in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) in Wuhan city, capital of Central China's Hubei province – recently reported year-on-year growth of 10.8 percent in July, according to local media reports.
The sales came in at 296,400 vehicles in July, bringing the total number to 1.7 million in the first seven months in 2020.
As one of the major industrial groups in Hubei province, all three factories of Dongfeng Honda in the WHDZ had resumed work and production and were operating at full capacity by the end of April.
Officials said their production capacity had returned to more than 3,000 vehicles per day and a new car was rolling off the production line every 50 seconds on average.
In May, Dongfeng Honda continued to produce at full capacity, manufacturing 71,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 16.4 percent. Meanwhile, the capacity utilization rate was close to 110 percent.
From January to July this year, Dongfeng Honda has sold more than 380,000 vehicles.
Dongfeng Aeolus, as one of Dongfeng's core business units, sold 6,704 vehicles in June, an increase of 24.1 percent from the previous month, and its sales in July increased by 28.7 percent year-on-year.
