At a signing ceremony on Aug 13, Dongfeng Technology Center agreed to cooperate with Changsha University of Science & Technology (CSUST) to develop smart roads and autonomous driving, according to local media reports.
The two parties will initially establish a scientific and technological innovation system covering three levels: basic research, high-tech research and technology development.
They will jointly build the Intelligent Road and Autonomous Driving Technology Innovation R&D Platform to carry out research and exploration in the fields of smart road infrastructure, smart traffic management, smart vehicle applications and smart campuses.
Dongfeng and CSUST also signed a laboratory cooperation agreement to jointly build a smart road Sharing-X mobile technology service platform. The platform aims to promote the discussion and application of Sharing-city and Sharing-PRT commercial models by combining the two parties’ respective advantages in smart car manufacturing and smart transportation.
