Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) in Wuhan, the capital city of Central China’s Hubei province, is to invest some 5.5 billion yuan to renovate 35 water conservancy facilities in the zone, according to local media reports.
The projects will mainly focus on the construction of safe areas, the expansion of urban drainage channels, and the improvement of urban drainage and agricultural drainage pumping stations.
It’s expected that 13 projects – including the comprehensive treatment of the dangerous section of the Shaji embankment – will be completed before the flood season begins in 2021, while the remaining 23 dikes and drainage projects will be included in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) project library.
