Rare birds seen at Wuhan’s Jianghan University

The pheasant-tailed jacana, a kind of rare bird, is photographed on Aug 13 at Sanjiao Lake located in Jianghan University in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone – which is in Wuhan city, capital of Central China’s Hubei province. According to school officials, some 40 species of birds can be observed this season on campus. They include the whiskered tern, azure-winged magpie and vinous-throated parrotbill. Officials said their appearance is thanks to the continuing efforts in environmental protection and water quality enhancement. [Photo/Chutian Metropolis Daily]
