

Auto manufacturer Dongfeng Motor Co on July 29 launched the first concept car for its new Lantu high-end new energy vehicle brand in Wuhan city, capital of Central China’s Hubei province where it is based, according to local media reports.
A company spokesman said the Dongfeng Lantu is the first high-end electric brand being developed by State-owned automobile enterprises administrated by the central government.
The production facilities for Lantu cars will be established in Wuhan, marking new progress in high-end electric vehicle production in the city’s automobile industry chain.
In the next five years, Dongfeng Motor Co plans to invest 46 billion yuan ($6.60 billion) in a series of major projects such as new energy vehicles, intelligent network connection and autonomous driving in Wuhan city.
