Wuhan, capital of Central China’s Hubei province, recently announced that 15 commercial streets as well as 15 communities in the city had been recognized as non-Driving Under the Influence areas -- or DUI-free precincts -- after no drunk driving cases occurred there this year, according to local media reports.
The move to honor the city precincts is part of a wider program launched by Wuhan to crack down on DUI cases, and to create a better living environment, officials said.
Among the 30 non-DUI precincts, two are located in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone: Wuhan Jingkai Wanda Plaza and Lyudao community in Zhuanyang street, officials added.
