Wuhan issues six measures to boost employment

Wuhan -- the capital of Central China’s Hubei province -- has released six measures designed to boost recruitment in the city, according to local media reports.

Officials said the move will stimulate the market players, support the development of small and micro businesses and further reduce the impact of the novel coronavirus pandemic on the recruitment of people, especially to small and micro enterprises.

Under the measures, Wuhan will collect information on small and micro enterprises' jobs on offer and coordinate with the employment departments of colleges and universities in the city, to better serve job seekers.

Officials said a talent services season for small and micro enterprises will be established. Special areas for small and micro enterprises will be set up during the two major talent recruitment seasons, which are spring recruitment and autumn recruitment periods.

In addition, Wuhan will establish small and micro enterprise talent joint offices in other cities.

These will accept and handle civic service affairs such as corporate personnel social security payments. They will coordinate and implement affordable enterprise policies, organize activities such as recruitment drives, product exhibitions and project matching -- and help reduce the operating costs of small and micro enterprises.

Officials said that Wuhan is to develop a small and micro enterprise product exhibition center, to provide free exhibition services for the innovative products of small and micro enterprises.

They said the center will regularly organize product exhibition and sales matchmaking activities and it will distribute product information to upstream and downstream companies in China and abroad.

There are also plans for Wuhan to improve the existing talent evaluation and honor system. It will, as appropriate, lower the standards threshold for recruits. The city will expand the scope of support for young job seekers.
