Dongfeng Lear Automotive Seating Co -- one of the resident companies in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ), in Wuhan, capital of Central China’s Hubei province -- is leading the way in intelligent manufacturing, according to WHDZ officials.
They said that since 2012, it has successively introduced a large number of informatization and intelligent systems and equipment to build a smart factory.
The company’s overall efficiency of the company has increased by 10 percent, while the number of workshop personnel has decreased by 20 percent.
Dongfeng Lear produces automotive seats and is engaged in the research, manufacture, sales and service of their components – producing 640,000 sets of car seats annually.
It is also a strategic automotive seating supplier of major auto manufacturer Dongfeng Motor Co, also based in the WHDZ.
Dongfeng Lear is a Sino-American joint venture established in 2004, funded by Dongfeng Motor Corporation, Dongfeng Industrial Co Ltd and Lear Corporation, based in the state of Michigan in the US.
