Tongji Hospital is to set up a rehabilitation medical center in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) -- located in Wuhan, in Central China’s Hubei province -- according to the WHDZ officials.
The rehabilitation medical center, covering an area of 90,000 square meters, will boast 1,000 beds and cost 2.68 billion yuan ($382 million).
The planned rehabilitation medical center will include the International Rehabilitation Medical Center, Rehabilitation Training Center, Rehabilitation Equipment Research Center and the Rehabilitation Equipment Manufacturing Industrial Park.
Officials said that integrating the most advanced research results into clinical treatment provides help for patients throughout the course of the disease.
At the same time, integrated transformation of production, education and research will drive the development of the rehabilitation equipment manufacturing industry.
