An online lecture was given on July 9 in the Tusincere Wuhan Sci-Tech Innovation Park in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) -- located in Wuhan city in Central China’s Hubei province -- according to WHDZ officials.

They said it focused on the developing 5G network and artificial intelligence, among other things.

The lecture was given by Wang Xiwen, a well-known technology writer with a doctorate in engineering.

According to Wang, 5G has the characteristics of large broadband, a large-scale connection, ultra-low latency and reliability.

He said that AI has transformed informationization to intelligence. The combination of the two will bring unprecedented improvements to social production methods and the development of productivity, Wang added.

In the first half of this year, the park launched the Auto Industry Innovation Series Online Public Lectures, which included eight talks. The lectures attracted more than 2,000 online viewers and they have given guidance to an estimated 300 WHDZ-based enterprises online.

From July to August, leading industry experts will be invited every week to give online lectures focusing on eight areas -- including next generation automobiles, intelligent manufacturing, digital information and life and health.
