One primary school and one middle school is to be developed in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) -- in Wuhan, capital city of Central China’s Hubei province -- according to WHDZ officials.

The Guanshidun Primary School is being fully funded by the WHDZ and built by Wuhan Chedu Construction Development Co.

The new school will have 36 classrooms and as of June 22, the preliminary design and investment plan had been approved.

Construction work is expected to begin in September. It will take 26 months to complete and the school is scheduled to go into use in September 2023.

Officials added that a middle school is to be built on the former location of the WHDZ No 2 Middle School.

The WHDZ No 2 Middle School will be moved to a new location near Fenghua Wei’an community. It will cover an area of 69 mu, or 4.6 hectares, and will cost 160 million yuan ($22.85 million).
