Dongfeng Honda, an auto manufacturer based in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) -- in Wuhan, Central China’s Hubei province -- sold 77,363 cars in June, representing year-on-year growth of 16.9 percent, according to the WHDZ media center.

The data shows that Dongfeng Honda had cumulative sales of more than 300,000 vehicles from January to June this year.

The company's production and operations are rapidly recovering from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and its market performance has steadily recovered, laying a good foundation for the completion of various annual targets and tasks, a spokesman said.

The company resumed production on March 11. In late April, all three factories of Dongfeng Honda in the WHDZ had resumed production and were operating at full capacity.

Officials said output had returned to more than 3,000 vehicles per day and a new car was rolling off the production line every 50 seconds on average.

In May, Dongfeng Honda continued to produce at full capacity, producing 71,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 16.4 percent and the capacity utilization rate was close to 110 percent, the company spokesman said.
