The Tanghu Staff Cultural Activity Center -- located in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) in Wuhan city in Central China’s Hubei province -- reopened to the public on June 30 after a 161-day closure, according to WHDZ officials.

They said the center -- which boasts the Tanghu Library, Tanghu Museum of Art, and Tanghu Theater -- was shut because of the novel coronavirus epidemic.

According to Tanghu Library members of staff, readers should make reservations in advance to enter the library at different periods. Each hour is a designated period and there are six periods throughout the working day.

At present, the library does not accept visits without reservations and does not provide reservation services for minors.

Readers must wear a mask, show a green health code and have their body temperature taken before entering the library.

In order to prevent and control the epidemic, services such as book reading, self-study, exhibitions, visits, manual card applications, replacement of card readers and reader card refunds are currently not provided.

The Tanghu Museum of Art was reopened with a calligraphy exhibition staged, showcasing calligraphy works created by Hubei artists. The exhibition will run until Aug 5.

The Tanghu Theater will stage its first performance on July 4 since the COVID-19 outbreak.
