Sunac China Holdings and Beijing Capital Land is to cooperate in the construction of the new WHDZ International Smart Ecological City to be located in the Smart Eco-city in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) -- which is itself situated in Wuhan city in Central China's Hubei province -- according to WHDZ officials.
Established in 2015, the WHDZ’s Smart Eco-City adheres to environmental priorities, smart empowerment and the integration of industry and city development.
Officials said it actively deploys new energy and smart connected vehicles, artificial intelligence and smart manufacturing, inspection and testing, smart homes, as well as high-end cultural tourism and recreation.
The development of advanced industries has attracted a large number of major projects such as the CAS Wuhan Institutes of Advanced Technology, the Wuhan New Energy Vehicle Industrial Research Institute, as well as the Harbin Institute of Technology Robotics Institute, International Design Town and Orsun Ice and Snow Sports Town.
Officials said the WHDZ has strong industrial foundations and support facilities.
They said that to those advantages, the construction of the international smart eco-city project will combine the green dimensions of the area -- to complement industrial upgrading and urban functions, providing strong support for the zone and even Wuhan city.
The project includes three major sections: the Smart Yangtze River Vitality Center, the Wuhan International Ecological Cultural Tourism Zone and the Innovation Model Zone for Industry-city Integration.
