The Orsun Ice and Snow Town Project is currently underway in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) -- in Wuhan, capital city of Central China’s Hubei province -- according to WHDZ officials.
The WHDZ ice and snow town, developed by the Orsun Group with an investment of 5.2 billion yuan ($727 million), is expected to boast the first sports field for winter sports in Central China.
Officials said the town will cover an area of 439 mu, or 29.27 hectares.
Construction work started in May 2018 and it is divided into two phases.
To date, the commercial land of the first phase of the project has started construction, with part of the main structure for the boutique hotels and commercial streets capped.
Around 60 percent of the main body of the ice rink has been completed. In addition, the construction of the basement of the commercial office building has been completed.
