The Department of Cardiology at Wuhan Union Hospital West Campus has resumed normal outpatient, emergency and inpatient treatment services since the hospital officially resumed operations on May 4, according officials of the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) -- based in Wuhan city in Central China’s Hubei province -- where the hospital is located.

WHDZ officials said that all medical and nursing staff members in the Department of Cardiology had received the COVID-19 antibody and nucleic acid tests. In addition, the outpatient clinic is strictly implementing a "one doctor, one patient, one clinic" protocol to ensure the safety of doctors and patients.

Officials said that the Department of Cardiology has prepared a set of proven first-aid procedures.

They added that both the cardiology departments of Wuhan Union Hospital West Campus and Wuhan Union Hospital had always adhered to the principles of unified department management and unified staff deployment.

The department at the former institution has successfully completed a number of cardiac interventions, including emergency stent implants, coronary double CTO lesions, pacemaker implants, supraventricular ablations, early ventricular ablations, atrial fibrillation ablations and ICD implants.
