Wuhan Union Hospital West Campus to get back to normal

Updated: 2020-05-06

The Wuhan Union Hospital West Campus has resumed normal diagnosis and treatment services on May 4, according to the official WeChat account of the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ).

WHDZ officials said the hospital -- located in the zone in Wuhan City in China’s Central Hubei province -- was used in the fight against the novel coronavirus since the outbreak.

They said that it was chosen as a designated hospital for COVID-19 treatment on Jan 25.

On Jan 31, it was identified as a designated hospital for critically ill patients with COVID-19.

However on April 23, the last COVID-19 patient was cured and discharged from Wuhan Union Hospital West Campus.

Officials said that after a 90-day battle against the epidemic, the hospital was currently undergoing thorough disinfection, re-planning wards and reorganizing personnel.

Even after the outpatient clinic returns to normal operation, patients will still need to scan their QR code and register for treatment, as well as take body temperature measurements.
