The new Wuhan Junsha Xishanhu Bridge has been completed with the asphalt pavement of the bridge deck finished off, together with the sidewalks, guardrails and other auxiliary facilities on both sides of the structure, according to officials in Wuhan, in Central China's Hubei province.

The project, developed by CCCC Second Harbour Engineering Co, is located in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ), WHDZ officials added.

The bridge was erected with 30-meter prestressed concrete box girders, which are simply supported in the continuous structure. The bridge is 937 meters long and the width is 33 m.

The Xiashanhu Bridge is part of the Wuhan Junsha Avenue Road and Bridge Project, which connects East Guanlianhu Road and the Tongshun River.

The project has a total length of 3.76 kilometers, a design speed of 60 kilometers per hour, a two-way six-lane road and a red line width of 40 m.

There are two bridges with the total length reaching 2,366 m -- the Xiashanhu Bridge is one of them -- and the total length of the roadway is 1,394 m, including drainage and power and telecommunications lines.
