Vehicle manufacturers based in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) -- including Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co and Dongfeng Passenger Vehicle Co -- have resumed full production capacity, according to a press conference held on April 6, WHDZ officials said.
The return to work of auto manufacturers drove more than 500 auto parts suppliers in the zone to resume production, greatly reducing the tension in the automotive industry chain.
Home appliance companies based in the WHDZ including Midea and Gree are expected to reach full production capacity in early April.
According to WHDZ officials, there are 1,164 real estate companies and enterprises above a designated scale -- businesses with annual revenue of 20 million yuan ($2.83 million) or more -- in the zone and 1,059 companies have resumed work and production.
A total of 77 of the 105 key projects in the zone worth over 100 million yuan each have resumed output, with a total investment of 180 billion yuan.
