National Health Commission spokesman Mi Feng said Tuesday that the percentage of critically-ill patients among all confirmed novel coronavirus cases in Wuhan, the city at the center of the outbreak, has dropped from 31.6 percent on Feb 11 to 22 percent on Monday.
The percentage has been declining for the past three consecutive days, he said at a news conference held by the central government in Beijing.
The percentage also has stabilized since Feb 7 in Central China's Hubei province, where Wuhan is the capital, and other regions. On Monday, the percentage was 11.8 percent in Hubei and 10.5 percent in other provinces, he said.
Multiple measures have been taken to prevent patients with mild symptoms from developing critical conditions and to help critically ill patients improve.
