A team of novel coronavirus pneumonia experts from China and the World Health Organization (WHO) on Feb 23 visited two cabin hospitals in the Wuhan Sports Center -- located in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) -- according to the official WeChat account of the WHDZ.
The experts investigated the epidemic prevention and control work and had in-depth discussions with the medical workers at the hospitals, speaking highly of their construction and operation.
The Wuhan Sports Center in the WHDZ has converted its main gymnasium and badminton training hall into two cabin hospitals to treat infected patients suffering from mild symptoms of the virus.
If a patient's condition worsens, he or she is then transferred to the Wuhan Union Hospital (West Campus).
The two hospitals have 1,100 beds, with 600 beds placed in the main gymnasium and 500 in the badminton training hall.
Construction work on the facilities was completed on Feb 6.
