A truck from Hunan province loaded with vegetables on Feb 15 broke down on its way to Wuhan city, the epicenter of the novel coronavirus pneumonia, according to local officials.

After receiving information sent by the driver, the Baowan Logistics Center urgently called for two of its trucks to transfer the supplies and ensure that the goods could reach their destination smoothly, while a maintenance worker was dispatched to repair the truck.

After nearly five hours of emergency distributions, 10 tons of vegetables -- including cabbage and radishes -- were successfully transferred to the Central Hospital of Wuhan, Wuhan Asia General Hospital and Wuhan Mental Health Center.

The Baowan Logistics Center located in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone, also known as WHDZ, received emergency supplies from Sichuan province on Feb 9. It marked the first batch of emergency supplies received by the center as a transfer station for emergency goods entering Hubei province.

A new transfer station system for emergency supplies has been developed, in the move towards the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus pneumonia.

So far, a total of 282 tons of vegetable and food and 12 tons of epidemic prevention supplies have been transferred by the logistics center.
