Wuhan Sports Center located in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (also known as WHDZ) received 340 patients with the novel coronavirus pneumonia on Feb 12 -- the first batch of patients since its opening as a converted cabin hospital -- according to the official WHDZ WeChat account.
The sports center converted its main gymnasium and badminton training hall into two mobile cabin hospitals to treat infected patients suffering from mild symptoms of the coronavirus pneumonia.
The cabin hospitals have 1,100 beds, with 600 beds placed in the main gymnasium and 500 installed in the badminton training hall.
A total of 650 medical workers from Anhui, Guizhou and Jiangsu provinces are now providing medical services for the patients in the two cabin hospitals.
If a patient's condition worsens, he or she will be transferred to the Wuhan Union Hospital (West Campus).
