WHDZ sub-district takes steps in virus prevention, control

The Xiangkou sub-district of Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone has been making great efforts in novel coronavirus pneumonia prevention and control, according to local media reports.

A team consisting of 300 Party members and volunteers is currently conducting registration of sub-district households, while ensuring the distribution of epidemic prevention manuals and taking measurements of body temperatures.

The team strengthened its efforts to track information on vehicles entering the community and conducted in-depth inspections of farmer's markets, patrols at designated locations and of key areas within the jurisdiction at the rate of no less than twice a day.

More than 100 sanitation workers and volunteers are disinfecting the streets, farmer’s markets and public areas in the sub-district on a daily basis.

At present, the three communities in the sub-district have implemented a closed system of management and a person in each household is allowed go out to conduct purchases once every two days.

Officials said the Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia Prevention Headquarters of the sub-district purchased more than 2,000 thermometers and 600 kilograms of ethyl alcohol for residents.
