The Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) has been making great efforts to ensure locals live as normal a life as possible in the wake of the total lockdown of city for prevention and control of the novel coronavirus outbreak, according to the official WeChat account of the WHDZ.
Officials said the zone has been coordinating all kinds of materials to ensure it's business as usual for its residents.
Eight major supermarkets in the WHDZ are open for business and the daily supplies of fruits, vegetables, meat, rice noodles, grains and oils are being provided in a timely manner.
Due to traffic controls and other reasons, additional staff members were dispatched to assist the eight supermarkets to maintain order, officials said.
A volunteer team consisting of youngsters from the zone took part in the voluntary service provided for the supermarkets. The volunteers helped with body temperature measurements and the maintenance of order, officials said.
