Established in 2012, the Lenovo Wuhan Industrial Base was completed, and the plant started production in 2013.

It is a mobile internet industry facility integrating R&D, manufacturing and sales, as well as Lenovo's largest and most advanced factory in the world.

The plant now boasts more than 30 surface mounted technology work lines, more than 50 test lines and assembly lines and more than 40 packaging lines. In addition to Lenovo and Motorola brand smartphones, tablets, and portable computers, it also produces innovative smart devices such as smart speakers, smart watches and smart headphones.

The mobile phones produced at the Wuhan plant are exported to more than 60 countries and regions around the world. Additionally, mobile phone components produced by the Wuhan plant are delivered to Lenovo's factories in Brazil, India and Argentina and assembled there for global sales.

In 2018, the export value of the Wuhan plant reached 5.3 billion yuan ($772 million), accounting for 15.5 percent of Hubei’s total exports and 27.3 percent of Wuhan’s exports and ranking it first in Hubei province.
