A total of 23 skilled talents were formally selected as Craftsmen of Wuhan, as announced by Wuhan municipal government on Jan 16, according to local officials.
The 23 artisans will each get a reward of 300,000 yuan ($43,717) and can directly apply for a senior title.
Those selected can get 100,000 yuan in subsidies to construct a studio and there will be another incentive subsidy according to the output of the studio, officials said.
According to the human resources and social security bureau of Wuhan, 107 applicants recommended by more than 80 companies in Wuhan participated in the selection, most of whom being grass-roots technical talent.
After an expert review, field inspection, and social publicity, 23 were selected to win the honor.
They covered key industries such as automobiles and parts, steel, petrochemicals, equipment manufacturing, aerospace, chip manufacturing and other industries such as transportation, commercial services, construction, and textiles.
