Wuhan-based Dongfeng Motor Corporation is to work closely with China Automotive Technology and Research Center Co -- also known as CATARC -- in order to help boost the automobile industry, in the wake of a strategic cooperation agreement signed on Jan 4.
According to the accord, the two companies will build a collaborative platform which will contribute to the development of the automobile industry in China.
Joint work will be carried out in the fields of auto industry standards and technical regulations, product testing and test related certification services.
Other areas will be key technology research and product development, engineering consulting, information services and soft science research.
They will also work together on big data, vehicle safety and other areas of research.
Founded in 1985, CATARC is a science and technology group with extensive experience in the auto industry, both home and abroad.
The company assists the government in developing auto industry standards and technical regulations.
It also assists the government in product certification testing, management system certification, industry planning and policy research and information services.
