The Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) has been making great strides in promoting intellectual property, with the number of invention patent applications of enterprises in the zone reached 1,183 in the first ten months of 2019, a year-on-year increase of 27.2 percent, according to WHDZ officials.
According to the latest data feedback from the National Intellectual Property Administration, the WHDZ owns 1,909 invention patents, maintaining a leading position among national economic and technological development zones.
In addition, the WHDZ is expected to develop an intellectual property featured park.
Officials said that the park will bring together intellectual property-related institutions, industries and resources.
They said it will provide high-quality intellectual property services to companies and institutions and create a good business atmosphere through its intellectual property services system.
Officials said that on one hand, it was necessary to develop the characteristics of intellectual property rights, comprehensively strengthen government policy guidance and give full play to the leading and supporting role of policies.
On the other hand, it was necessary to integrate the resources of all parties and build and improve the functions of the intellectual property park, they added.
