The opening ceremony of the China Automobile and Motorcycle Sports Festival 2019 is scheduled to open at Wuhan Sports Center on Dec 12, according to the Wuhan Evening News.

Wuhan Sports Center -- located in the Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) in Wuhan, capital city of Central China’s Hubei province -- was the venue for the opening and closing ceremonies of the recent 7th CISM Military World Games held in October.

According to the organizers, a total of 230 participants from more than 30 countries and regions are expected to join in the latest event in the WHDZ.

The China Automobile and Motorcycle Sports Festival, the largest and most comprehensive event in the automobile and motorcycle sports industry in China, will have five competition categories.

They are: the China Drift Championship, the China Endurance Championship, China Touring Car Championship, China Truck Racing Championship and the China Esports Racing Championship.

The organizers said there will be themed experience zones including a racing experience zone, a dynamic equipment experience zone, a real AR racing experience zone and a FIA e-sports experience zone.

This year’s festival will highlight special features and aspects of Wuhan.

Racing drivers from Wuhan will take part in the event with race cars produced in Wuhan.

Also, the audience can take free rides on Level 4 driverless vehicles developed by automobile manufacturer Dongfeng.
