The 2019 China Esports Racing Championship – or CERC – is set to hit top gear in Wuhan when it kicks off on Dec 14 at the Wuhan Sports Center located in Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone.
According to local media reports it will be the second pit stop in the WHDZ for the race, following its first stop in Chengdu, Sichuan province.
The CERC, one of the most influential esports racing events in China, is hosted by Federation of Automobile and Motorcycle Sports of China.
Esports are a form of sport competition using video games. They often take the form of organized, multiplayer video game competitions, particularly between professional players, individually or as teams.
Organizers for the championship said experience zones will be set up during the event, including a racing experience zone, a dynamic equipment experience zone, a real AR racing experience zone and a FIA esports experience zone.
With the vigorous development of the domestic automobile industry, the automobile culture has been further popularized and promoted -- and China's motorsport has also entered a period of rapid development.
With the development of virtual technology, esports racing has been gaining popularity, the organizers added.
