The 28th China Food Expo is scheduled to open on Dec 6 in Wuhan, capital of Central China’s Hubei province, according to the Hubei Daily newspaper.
The four-day event, jointly hosted by the People’s Government of Hubei province, the China General Chamber of Commerce, China Food Industry Association and the people’s government of Wuhan, will have five pavilions.
These will include the Hubei Pavilion, Interprovincial Exchange Pavilion and an International Brand and Key Enterprise Pavilion.
The total exhibition area will reach 50,000 square meters. More than 2,500 international standard stalls will be set up at the event.
So far, the investment promotion work has been basically completed. More than 1,834 companies from more than 20 provinces, municipalities and more than 10 countries and regions will participate in the expo.
According to organizers, imported food booths will account for 20 percent of the total exhibition area.
More than 3,000 brands from more than 30 countries and regions -- including Norway, South Korea and Japan -- will be displayed.
The four major international agricultural trading firms, also known as the ABCDs -- Archer Daniels Midland, Bunge, Cargill and Louis Dreyfus -- will take part in the event.
