Wuhan to host national synchronized swimming championship

Excitement is building in the runup of the 2019 National Synchronized Swimming Championship, which is to open in Wuhan in central Hubei province on Nov 7, according to local media reports.

The three-day synchronized swimming championship -- the first sports event hosted by the city in the wake of the 7th CISM Military World Games -- will involve the participation of eight teams from across the country.

A total of 10 competition categories are on the schedule -- including duets, solos and team events.

There will be two competitions being held on each day, which are at 10:00 hrs and 19:00 hrs respectively.

Hosted by the Swimming Management Center of the General Administration of Sports of China, the National Synchronized Swimming Championship is the highest level of this type of swimming event in China.

Top domestic athletes will compete in this event to win a chance to participate in 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
