WHDZ reports steady economic growth from Jan to Sept

The Wuhan Economic & Technological Development Zone -- also known as the WHDZ -- maintained steady economic growth in the first nine months of 2019, officials said at a meeting held on Oct 29.

According to the statistics released at the meeting, during the first nine months of 2019, the regional GDP of WHDZ reached some 122 billion yuan ($17.36 billion), for a year-on-year increase of 6 percent.

In terms of industries, the added value of the primary industry was 1.05 billion yuan during the period, for year-on-year growth of 3.2 percent.

Officials said the added value of the secondary industry was 89.04 billion yuan, up 6.2 percent on the previous year, while the added value of the tertiary industry came in at 31.89 billion yuan, up 5.2 percent.

From January to September, fixed asset investment in the zone reached 58.35 billion yuan, showing a year-on-year increase of 10.6 percent.
