How to get to WHDZ by air

Updated: 2019-10-28

There's no direct flights to the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone, or WHDZ yet. Currently visitors can fly to Wuhan Tianhe International Airport, or WUH and take the metro, coaches, or taxis to the city and then transfer to the bus to get to the zone.

The cheapest route is to take the metro line 2 to Hongtu Avenue station and transfer to the metro line 3 to Tunyang Avenue station, then take the bus numbers 288 or 651 to the zone. The route takes 2 hours and costs 11 yuan ($1.56).

It is also feasible to take the shuttle bus to the Civil Aviation Community and transfer to bus 71 to Fuxing 1st Village Station, development avenue, then transfer to the bus 597 to the zone. That route takes 2.5 hours and costs 21 yuan.

It takes 50 minutes to take a taxi to the zone and the cost is about 110 yuan.

As the largest transportation hub in Central China, flights coming and going from Wuhan to big cities such as Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou are frequent every day. The flight times from these cities to Wuhan are all about 2 hours.

Here are the recommended flights from Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK), Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG) and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN) to WUH.
