The Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone will build an ISA International School, local officials said at a work conference on Sept 12.

The project was signed on Feb 27, 2018 and is currently awaiting official approval for land use and operation.

According to officials, the school will cover an area of more than 11 hectares and cost 1.06 billion yuan ($149.88 million) to build.

It will be divided into two sections: one for foreign students and one that provides bilingual courses for Chinese students.

It will offer international baccalaureate programs, British-style education, courses on Chinese language and culture, and other language courses to students between the ages of 2 and 18.

Officials said that the school is expected to help boost the zone’s development by enriching its educational resources and attracting more high-end workers.

The local government said it will communicate with the necessary departments to accelerate the land use and operation approval process.
