An award ceremony to celebrate China’s 35th Teachers’ Day was held in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) in Wuhan, capital of Central China’s Hubei province, on Sept 10.
Around 350 education workers and officials attended the event, and 227 teachers were honored for their contributions to the zone’s educational development.
Officials said that the WHDZ has always made education a high priority. The zone is currently home to 47 primary and secondary schools, 45 kindergartens, and two universities for senior citizens.
The zone has recruited around 1,100 new teachers over the past four years and 34 workshops have been established to train teachers.
It also aims to attract 100 teachers and principals with advanced knowledge and experience in teaching, educational concepts, and management.
