A public health emergency drill was held at the main venues for the 2019 Military World Games in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, on Aug 9.

The event aimed to improve the venues’ handling of emergencies caused by pests such as mosquitos, which carry and spread many acute infectious diseases.

More than 150 people from the zone’s medical system and biological vector control service institutes participated in the drill, which tested things such as detecting emergencies, reporting emergencies, and emergency treatment. A panel of experts analyzed and offered advice after each session.

A variety of emergency equipment, including drones and sprayers, were also exhibited during the drill.
