A security conference was held in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, on Aug 4.

The conference reviewed production work in the first half of 2019 and laid out plans for “Thunder Move”, a week-long action plan to improve local security starting on Aug 4.

Work will focus on social stability, oil and gas, blasting items, dangerous chemicals, special equipment, building construction, house safety, and traffic safety.

The move is in preparation for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 2019 Military World Games, which will be held in Wuhan in October.

Peng Hao, director of the administrative committee of the WHDZ, said that relevant departments should learn from every failure and improve their work. They should strengthen their sense of responsibility and work together to eliminate potential hazards.
