2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Wuhan approaches

A press conference on the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Wuhan was held at the Wuhan Conference Center in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, on July 29.

A total of 10 contests for the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup's Wuhan zone will begin on Aug 31 at the Wuhan Sports Center, located in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ).

China is the third Asian country to host a world-level basketball competition, following the Philippines and Japan. The 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup will be held in eight cities across China from Aug 31 to Sept 15, namely Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Foshan, and Wuhan.

The conference was hosted by the Wuhan municipal government and organized by the WHDZ. Attendees included Hu Gongmin, director of the Hubei Administration of Sport, Chen Xiexin, vice-mayor of Wuhan, Wang Shenshun, director of the Wuhan sports administration, and Yin Hao, director of the FIBA in China.

Hu Gongmin and Chen Xiexin announced that tickets for the event would go on sale during the press conference.

During the event, activities such as amateur basketball competitions will be held.
