WHDZ to host a regional testing center

Updated: 2019-07-18

The Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) in Wuhan, capital of Central China's Hubei province, plans to develop into a hub for testing organizations in Central China, according to a meeting held on July 16.

During the meeting, it was announced that the WHDZ would work to build an inspection and testing cluster following evaluation and approval from relevant departments and experts.

Experts from the China National Institution of Standardization and the Wuhan Branch of the China Quality Certification Center said that the WHDZ boasts a complete industrial chain for vehicles and auto parts, and is fully qualified to engage in inspection and testing work in the auto sector.

According to the plan, the project will cover an area of 2,000 mu (13.33 hectares) and will be able to offer inspection and testing services for pillar industries in the WHDZ and in Wuhan, particularly emerging industries.

In addition to the auto industry, the center will also provide testing services for projects related to general aviation, robotics, healthcare, intelligent manufacturing, and environmental protection.
