A group of overseas Chinese visited the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) in Wuhan, capital of Central China's Hubei province, on June 3.

The aim of the visit was to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Hubei Provincial Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, and encourage more overseas Chinese entrepreneurs to invest in the zone.

Nearly 70 people participated in the event, including Liu Wenhua, vice-chairman of the Hubei Provincial Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, and vice-chairman Dai Biao.

Participants visited the zone's Tanghu Cultural Activity Center and the third plant of Dongfeng Honda Automobile, which began operating in April this year. The first section of the plant has an annual production capacity of 120,000 vehicles and is committed to manufacturing new energy vehicles.

The Tanghu Cultural Activity Center covers an area of 105 mu (7 hectares) and contains a theater, an art gallery, and a library, providing cultural services to people working or living in the zone.

Zhang Dehua, director of WHDZ's united front work department, met with the delegation following the visit.

Zhang introduced the zone to the delegation, focusing on its preferential policies to attract companies and professionals, and hoped that attendees would come to start businesses.

Some overseas Chinese showed interest in investing in the zone.
