A professional workstation was unveiled at the Yafei Agricultural Technology Park in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ) in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, on May 30.
It was jointly established by Wang Hanzhong, an academic of the Academy of Engineering and an agricultural expert, and the Wuhan Yafei Agricultural Science and Technology Company.
The cooperation agreement on establishing the workstation was signed in Beijing this January. It will be used for research on cruciferous crops.
According to the agreement, the two sides will carry out scientific and technological research mainly on broccoli and mini-broccoli, and work to create broccoli that is more resistant to black rot disease and high-quality mini broccoli suitable for growing year-round.
Yafei Agricultural Science and Technology Company has always attached importance to scientific and technological research, having invested 30 million yuan ($4.34 million) in Wuhan over the last two years and developed cooperation with Huazhong Agricultural University and Zhejiang University.
